Bangkok Leads TripAdvisor’s Bargain Ranking
In the last couple of years Bangkok has become world famous for being one of the top ten Asian destinations perfect for a weekend getaway owing to its reasonably rates. TripAdvisor, the well-known travel website, has just published a report with information about the amount of money you need If you want to spend seven days in Bangkok. On average, you would need about 43,000 Baht to afford accommodation, meals, airfare and tours.
TripAdvisor gave the second place to Cebu because you need about 46,000 Baht to cover expenses there. The ranking also included Luzon in the third place with just over 46,100 baht, Bali with 48,957 Baht and Phuket with a budget of 49,861 Baht.
It wasn’t surprising to see that Tokyo was the least affordable city with 70,431 Baht required to cover expenses there.
Needless to say, TripAdvisor made its cost estimations considering the average costs incurred to travel to the best locations within the afore mentioned Asian destinations. The costs include hotel accommodation for seven nights, round-trip airfare, three meals a day plus two excursions and other recreational activities.
According to TripAdvisor, Southeast Asian tourists are very interested in Bali as a vacation spot, especially in the months of December of 2016 and January-February of 2017. Other popular destinations include Hong Kong, Luzon and Bangkok.
In TripAdvisor’s ranking, other cities that appeared to complete the top ten were Tokyo, Singapore, Boracay, Phuket, Cebu and Seoul.
On average, Bangkok hotels charge tourists 2,008 Baht a night. In the case of airfares, it costs around 8,361 Baht. For an average meal and drink you should expect to pay about 788 Baht, and tours and excursions cost around 2,285 Baht.
Tourists should make the most of TripAdvisor´s report because it gives them valuable information about the best (and most reasonably priced) period in the year to travel, and also the tours they shouldn’t miss out on (which TripAdvisor has on offer) and the best hotels to stay in.
The Communications Director for TripAdvisor in Asia-Pacific, Janice Lee Fang, said that the report was very useful for tourists who wanted to travel for New Year, Valentine´s Day or Chinese New Year. She added that the report gave an insight into the most appropriate time of year to visit the destinations to avoid spending a huge amount of money on five-star accommodations and/or luxurious excursions.
The famous travel website also created a list of the best deals for upmarket hotels in different popular spots.
The ranking also shows the average rates of hotels in Tokyo (4,392 Baht), Hong Kong (3,892), Singapore (3,321), Seoul (3,214), Phuket (2,821), Bali (2,749), Luzon (2,107), Boracay (1535), Bangkok (1071) and Cebu (1,000).
