TripAdvisor: Thailand A Top Destination
According to a recent survey regarding tourists’ appeals in the months of September and October, Thailand offered the widest variety of attractions and options in the Southeast of Asia. The world-famous travel website, TripAdvisor, created a ranking with the best 15 attractions South East Asia has to offer and Thailand could appear in the ranking with five locations.
The places that could make it to the list include Bua Thong waterfalls in the area of Chiang Mai, Phuket’s Monkey Hill, the weekend night market of Krabi, Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden not far off Pattaya, and the Cartoon Network Amazone water park in Jomtien Beach.
TripAdvisor also listed four other Asian countries including the Philippines and Indonesia, with four ranked attractions, Malaysia and Vietnam, with just one respectively.
According to the Attraction Trend Index that TripAdvisor uses, there’s growing interest in open-air markets as well as natural attractions. The one that takes the leading position in the area because of the 240% plus traffic growth is Sanur’s Sindhu Market in Indonesia.
The following positions belong to Nacpan Beach in the Philippines, Nguyen Hue Street in Ho Chi Minh City, Pinto Art Museum also in the Philippines and the Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden.
The sixth position belongs to Bua Thong waterfalls in Thailand while Cartoon Network Amazone occupies the eighth place. Monkey Hill and Krabi Weekend Night Market are in the ninth and tenth positions.
TripAdvisor went on to publish some of the reasons why those listed destinations are so popular amongst tourists.
Nong Nooch has been chosen as a ‘must’ visit spot thanks to the wide variety of gardens that feature plants not only from Europe but also from North America and Asia.
Bua Thong waterfalls is world famous for the huge limestone face that resembles a stair, which is an attraction for adults and children. This spot is perfect for climbers because of the breathtaking scenery from the summit.
Cartoon Network Amazone waterpark is a success amongst visitors of all ages because it has over thirty rides and the biggest aqua playground in the world.
If you visit Monkey Hill, you will surely come across some macaques whilst making your way on their way to Phuket’s highest peak.
Last but not the least, is the weekend night market of Krabi, which is the perfect spot for food lovers. There are many different types of Thai curries on offer as well as snacks, noodles and desserts. You can even buy affordable souvenirs such as crafts and local art for very reasonable prices.
